Name Books

These are two name books I made for my friend, who is a fellow scrapbooker. I dont know about you, but crafters spend their time making gifts for friends who are normally non crafters, I know as a crafter it is very rare for someone to give me a gift they made, well it is the same for my friend, she makes scrapbook albums, cards and the most beautiful cross stitch pictures for friends and family and never receives a handmade gift herself. Well I decided it would be nice to give her a surprise, so I made these little name books for her, there is one for each of her daughters Eilidh and Iona, I photographed them prior to the pictures going in to save any problems with showing other folks kids on my blog.

Where has the last month gone

I can hardly believe that it is almost a month since I last posted anything on here. Now it is not because I have not been busy, because I have...but I guess I just got fed up taking pictures of cards..now dont get me wrong they were fab cards, even if I say so myself  but I have now made over 100 Christmas cards and even I would be hard pushed to appreciate pics of that many.

I did make some cards and bags for my window display, so I thought that I would let you see it..as I am going to clear it all away and do a Christmas display.

This is a pic of a card I made for my friend..her daughter was turning 21 had fun with this one.

A Gift for a friend

I have a friend who is having a bad time at the moment, unfortunately there is nothing I can do to help other than listen to the problems and be there for her. However I decided to make this for her to hang in her craft area, so that she can see it when she is working and hopefully it will remind her that she is loved and that help is there for her.

I have posted the verse below the picture if anyone wants to know what it says.

In the centre of the flame
There is a hollow place
And nothing can burn
In this sheltered space.
For the fire builds a wall
Scientific fact claims
And insures a safe area
In the midst of the flames.
And in the hurricane’s fury
There’s a centre of peace
Where the winds of destruction
Suddenly cease.
And this same truth prevails
In life’s tribulations
There’s an island of calm
In the soul’s meditations:
A place that is quiet
Where we’re shielded from harms
Secure in the haven
Of a kinds Father’s arms,
Where the hot flames of anger
Have no power to sear,
And the high winds of hatred
And violence and fear,
Lose all the wrath
As their savage course,
Is softly subdued
As faith weakens force.
So when the fires of life
Burn deep in your heart,
And the winds of destruction
Seem to tear you apart,
Remember God loves you
And want to protect you,
So seek a small haven
And be guided by prayer
To the place of protection
Within God’s loving care.

McMillan Coffee Morning

I was asked to make some cards for a couple of coffee mornings, including the McMillan coffee morning.. but instead of cards I thought I would make some little gift boxes, with chocolates in them...tastier than a card...

Merry Christmas from Scotland

My sister was going to visit her daughter Jillian who is working in Disney World, so she asked me to make her a Christmas card to take to her along with her Christmas pressies..so this is what I made, I know Jilly will love it.

Missed my chance

It dawned on me tonight that this was the last date to send in an entry to Scrapbook Inspirations, they wanted you to send in heritage LO's and they would choose some to be published...well as soon as I seen it, I thought, I will send in the LO I did of my dad..well needless to say I forgot, well I did'nt really forget..every now and then I would remember..but I still never sent it..and now its too late. I think perhaps my sub conscious came into play here, If you dont enter...you wont be rejected. I dont know that it would have been good enough for publication..but I love it..after all it has my DAD in it. So I thought I would put it on here.

Occassion Cards

These are a couple of cards I made today, one is a Ruby Wedding card for my friends parents and also a 21st Birthday card for one of my customers.

Hello and Welcome

Here are some of the cards I finished today. They are cards that were ordered by my customers, most of them are decoupage..as I love decoupage. They designs are conventional, as that is what my customers are looking for, they are definitely not the funky modern design type of people.

I really had fun making this waistcoat card, it was for a snooker player..hence the handmade snooker cues, will definitely make more of these.
